MY LIFE IS BACK IN ACTION!
can you believe? i've survived TEN WEEKS of INSANE life! i feel like a kid who has just finished exams and feel that liberation air blowing into my face. i'm SO gonna enjoy the 4 weeks of heaven before i'm dragged back to hell after that. Funny thing is, none of the teachers showed that exhilaration when with the girls. In the staffroom, everyone seemed to look happier, talk cheerfully and did a countdown when the last bell rang. haha. And i even managed to go out for a decent lunch with christie and gang to wheelock's cedele for proper edible food. shiok!
LIFE IS GOOD FROM NOW TILL 29th JUNE. muahaha. except that i still have to do bloody badminton duties.
damn.
ok i have to refrain from typing in capital letters but yeah. i'm sure you can sense the joy from the other side of the screen.
so anyway, managed to get
some life while i was busy over the last month. first up, it was steamboat with the nus people. i haven't seen half of them since we all graduated so it was very nice to see most of them a couple of weeks back. with it, we also celebrated por and wensi's birthday.




And craig being craig, just had to be funny everytime we meet.
Also, a few number of purchases.
Firstly, two new pairs of glasses so that i see even more clearly. and hopefully, most importantly, see who's been throwing arrows behind my back if any. haha
Then, my nike shoes.



This one has a slight tinge of purple which looks a little more special and different from the originally white one.
So along with it, i felt compelled to buy the Nike plus sensor.


and it tracks your run beautifully.
And then, my phone was also showing signs of retiring, so i decided to get the ruby red Nokie E63

which doesn't fall short of E71. I still take some time getting used to the qwerty keypad though i must say, the old keypad works better for me.
and what's life without movies?

Didn't quite enjoy startrek. It only comfort was that it was watched after a shit day of work and it was one way to destress. M also met a few of my colleagues cause all of us decided to watch Star trek together at Great world. except that i was sitting away from them. -grinz-

Wolverine was good! Hugh Jackman is seriously the sexiest man alive...he's hawwwt!

Angels and Demons was fantastic! it's so much way way way better than Da Vinci Code. watched this at Illuma, the new shopping mall at bugis. it was freeezzzzinnnggg. i had to spend the next one hour thawing outside.

Young Victoria was alright. didn't quite like it though emily blunt IS awesome.
And last night, at vivo, we watched

Love it! it's surprisingly good and kept me at the edge of the seat the whole show. must watch!

M has a bad habit of not buckling up his belt when driving. sometimes, just like him, i don't buckle up in his car. I usually don't nag at him to buckle up though we both know the consequences if we ever have a random date with the traffic police. And last night, after Terminator, i decided to put on the seat belt because... i just had the feeling we'd hit a road block. So i told M to buckle up blah blah blah...of which he obediently did so. It was a smooth ride and suddenly, just as we were about 500m away from home...guess who appeared? A traffic police! and he stopped us to check if we had our belts on!
can you believe it? even M was surprised at the accuracy of my 6th sense.
talk about superiority of the sexes. ahem.

Signs that show that you're becoming a workaholic:
1) you're sick and you're on MC but you can't afford to not go to work
2) you're staying in office till later and later
3) you're going back to office on weekends
Hello again! i have no idea who still reads this but let's just keep it alive for awhile while i can. and yes...i think i'm slowly becoming a workaholic. sighhhh
Well, work has been work. it's still busy but i try to make time for myself and... work?
this week has been lots of work-related dinners. sometimes i feel obliged to for such dinners..it's like.. politically correct. it can be fun at times but it can also be quite tiring at times when it comes to entertaining.
so let's see... on thursday, the bio people headed down to this little forest at Diary Farm. apparently it was a cow shed back in the olden days and now that boss has found it, she had decided to change it into an environmental lab. and since one of the partners we're working with are from Wales had this predecessor called Wallace, we decided to call it WELL- Wallace Environmental learning lab. quite cool la huh. some Wales guys came down to singapore to check out the place then we headed down for dinner at Rail way mall after that.

yummmmmmyyyyy! the yellow cupcake is called Bart Simpson. haha so cute! i didn't get to taste any of them. and i didn't manage to take any shots of the food we ordered. as much as i love to take photos of food, i thin sometimes the situation doesn't allow for it. especially when we have guests for dinner. -___-
then on Friday, seow hwee came back from cambridge and we decided to go for tea at Canele. After finishing all our meetings with whoever we were meeting, we drove down to Raffles City. it's becoming one of the places i frequent wayyyy too much.

Shinjuku incident. oh my god. i HATED it. yes yes it's good plot good effects but the effects were sooo good that it was damn gory and gross. totally didn't enjoy the show at all. i wanted to leave the theatre halfway but mervyn seemed quite engrossed in it that i didn't wanna spoil it. turned out that he was just as grossed out. the plot was pretty heavy too... we felt so brain dead and mentally exhausted after that.

Finally, a weekend to myself. to myself meaning: no need to go back to office or to even think about work.
ok, i still had to reply one email from work.
and well...another week plan for lessons next week.
but hey hey hey! it's so much better than the past few weekends. but then again, i had a great time last weekend catching up with boons, carol, mark and jeanne! i'm really glad certain issues and misunderstandings have been cleared up and i feel so much happier after meeting up with jeanne. all's good! and it's such a great feeling to have to rebuild that relationship all over again. I lost some earlier this month but now i've rebuild old ones. i'm really thankful (:
this week was just as insane. time flew by which is a good thing. On thursday, the few of us decided to stay back to play badminton and go to the gym. And then i practically spent the rest of the week nursing major muscle aches. and of course, dealing with some difficult people in school. the thing is, the difficult people aren't the kids. but well...just some people.. the other people. you get what i mean.
So my weekend was spent spacing out. i didn't do much at all. i started watching all my movie trailers and playing with my ipod touch. and well ok... basically mourned over the fact that i have to be down at bloody tampines on monday for nationals. !@#@#$#$%#$%$!@
nonetheless, next week's exciting programs awaits me! besides tomorrow (at ulu tampines), tuesday's another 4hr course after school (which means i'll end work at 6.30pm), wednesday there's 2 meetings and then there's rock climbing! how cool is that! i haven't done that since sec sch days..and now i'm reliving the memories back at the same place i first did it. So far, thursday's free (fingers crossed) and friday i'm meeting the usual suspects for dinner! i honestly can't wait for that! i need to see all these people desperately and catch up. and of course, i'm sure craig will entertain us with his usual antics. hehe
nonetheless, on friday after work at 7.30pm, m came to pick me up and we went to watch another bimbo chic flick.

yessss! my favorite book of all times! when i first read the novel 5 years back, i thought they should come up with a film. and 5 years later, it's produced! Jeanne even asked me if i was gonna catch the film. haha. and thank goodness m's the kinda sort who doesn't mind watching dumb shows with me.
Shopaholic was hilarious! if you're in for a good laugh, some silly moves and very into fashion, you ought to catch this show. certain things she does kinda reminds me of myself..and i can sooo totally relate to that. hehe
ok! i'm off to enjoy the rest of my weekend or what's left of it.

Have been extremely busy lately. For some strange reason, i don't have enough time all the time.
It's the one week school holidays and i welcome it with open arms. The only problem is that i still have to go back to office for about 3 times this week and another 2 times for CCA. which makes no difference to working 5 days a week. damn.
much has happened which has taught me so much as a working adult, and also made me realize that i'm probably not used to working life yet. which sucks big time. i continue my routine of going to work by 6.50am everyday and leaving office only after 7pm, sometimes even 8pm. i guess the only consolation at the end of the day: M who comes to pick me up religiously after work. my working hours are so erratic that he sometimes have to text me at 6pm " still in school?" which is mighty nice of him. Then we'll have dinner while he sits there and listen to me whine and bitch about work. by then, i'd feel better vomiting out all my frustrations while he goes home feeling like he just sat through a tortuous bitching session he didn't even take part in.
oh well. but i guess i'm rewarded in many ways. firstly, i get to keep my job during this economic downturn. secondly, boss has just told me a piece of good news! i passed my lesson observation with flying colors and it's pretty likely that i MIGHT might get a promo this june. but it all depends on things go in term 2.. so on one hand i'm pretty thankful that all my hardwork has paid off (:
and of course... what's life without satisfying my movie-junkie-need:

The reader. Absolutely fabulous. Kate winslet deserves her oscar. but that said, i think Slumdog still wins hands down.

Marley and me. Mervyn and i weren't interested in the other movies and we decided to watch Marley. well it wasn't really good show. it got kinda draggy after a while but i guess being a dog lover, one can never stop swooning over how cute marley is (:
And then at the IT fair, christie, asraf and i headed down on the 1st day of the fair to check it out. i got myself another 500gb hard disk and..







i can't resist taking photos of my new toy. i bought more accessories for my macbook and my ipod touch too. so it's a WHOLE lot of stuff and money gone. i'm becoming an apple fan. first, there was my mac, and now there's my touch. what can be next right?
not to mention, more expenditure on clothes and shoes over the weekend. dieeee. i have no idea why i'm spending so much. but i guess everyone's entitled to pamper themselves once in a while right?

well ok, i was stressed to the max the couple of weeks. i stayed in office the whole day only leaving when it turns dark. i shuttle between Raffles institution and Raffles girls' for meetings and conferences. and it causes even more backlogs.
but i finally decided to not give a damn and went out for Slumdog Millionaire on friday night.

When i first mentioned to chris i wanted to watch Valkyrie, he suggested Slumdog. Honestly, i thought slumdog was -___- it wasn't something that attracted my attention. It looked like a bollywood film more than anything. But i figured out that i needed a break no matter what so..why not?
anyway, slumdog was damn.good. i think it might even go down to the list of one of the best movies i've ever watched. it was so touching and electrifying at the same time. Everyone should go watch this show. it really deserved its win from the oscars.
and because chris knew i was dying to watch valkyrie since it was released, and seeing how cooped up i have been in office and hence missing it out, he decided to surprise me and make my day by getting Valkyrie tickets last night! i nearly screamed and hyperventilated because it's ending its run really soon and i thought i'd never get to watch it. Plus, it's at uluated Balestier Shaw. and therefore, i was very kindly chauffeured by chris to have dinner before catching
Valkyrie. I love it just as much as i loved slumdog. i'm so glad i got to satisfy my movie junkie self. Tom cruise was brilliant and it related to history really closely. worth the watch too!
after a hot cup of tea at railway mall and spacing out a little while, i went home to dread reality all over again.
sigh.
i think i'm a serious movie junkie addict. even chris thinks that he's in the cinema more often these days and it's 'mostly your fault'

Caught Bride Wars on Friday night. it was on sneaks but i was way to eager to catch a chick flick.
it's pretty hilarious.. kate hudson's should be the reason why you're watching this show. Bride wars has a good ending...and a rather meaningful one i suppose.
If you're bored and still waiting for better shows to be out, i suppose Bride wars will be a good choice (:
Anyway, we bought Wii!! happiness! it's gonna be a good companion during cny.. and because i spent the money on wii, i'm putting on hold my ipod touch. and hopefully by then, m1 will have its iphone FINALLY. blah.

I got off work early today i was on a major gastric flu infection after a whole string of birthday celebrations. So tuesday and wednesday was spent recuperating at home, sleeping and also alot of vomitting. Work has been alright although there's still some amount of work to be done. my girls have been kind to me so classroom management is so much easier.
Monday was one horrid day. I was having such a serious mega migraine that i puked out everything in the staff toilet and some of my colleagues thought it was a serious case of monday blues. tell me about it. still, i had to attend a meeting till 6pm before spending another 2hrs in office finishing up some more work. thank god for M who decided to come down to school, take me out for dinner before sending a very sick me back home to spend the rest of the night dying.
Anyway, i bought new books to read over the long break! i'm also planning to catch more movies over the next few days. i'm in desperate need for Chick flicks and laugh my bimbo dumb side away.... at the expense of my movie companion.

my gosh! what a way to celebrate my 23rd birthday!
2 surprises within 24hrs!
so firstly, the sister wanted to meet me for dinner on thursday at holland v's nydc. she did mentioned she wanted to buy me dinner for my birthday so i went down to meet her after work. nothing seemed amiss..we had our main course and dessert by our lonesome self

Then the next day, i went to work after thursday's night celebration. I was getting ready for first block lessons after assembly. in a mad rush trying to get ready worksheets and my class file, Shaun came to my cubicle and told me to get potatos in the pantry for class to demonstrate 'life'. So i thought..ok, why not? sounds like a good bio class.
and ta-dah! once i entered the pantry..

ok obviously i was utterly shocked. i was expecting a carton of potatos for class and i saw the whole bio department starting to sing me a song and lydia snapping unglam shocked photos of me. ohh boy

i was still in shock after i cut the cake and then had to rush off for class..only got to eat my cake after classes. wow! what an experience. have no idea how in the world did they plan all this when i sit with this whole bunch of happening people everyday at work. no wonder they all disappeared immediately after assembly


haha apparently Chad took all efforts to decorate the cake with the candles. and everyone was commenting how few candles there are on my cake. haha wheee!
So anyway, backtrack a little more. On wednesday night, M and i went to catch a late night movie. i was feeling listless and bored at home after work so we made plans to catch Transporter 3

Jason Statham is HAWT! Generally, Transporter was a pretty good one. i wasn't so much of a fan but this show managed to keep me on my toes all the time. worth watching (:
but his Audi A8 probably got more of my attention than his hot bod.


Anyway, i spent my entire night last night checking up the latest movies
